Montgomery Summer Research Diversity Fellowship in Law and Social Sciences  For undergraduate students interested in pursuing graduate study in the social sciences. Each student is assigned to an American Bar Foundation Research Professor who acts as mentor.

The students work at the American Bar Foundation’s offices in Chicago for 35 hours a week for 8 weeks. $3,600 stipend. Deadline: February 15

Ralph Bunche Summer Institute Located at Duke University. Applicants must be members of a racial or ethnic minority group that is significantly under-represented in political science. Program goal is to encourage students to pursue academic careers in political science by enhancing participants’ writing and research while exposing them to leaders in the field and issues in the discipline. Deadline: January 15, 2016

Historic Deerfield Summer Research Opportunity  Nine week program for college juniors interested in history and material culture. Fellows participate in classroom seminars, walking tours and study-sessions in museum houses led by Historic Deerfield’s staff and visiting lecturers. Fellows write two research papers and go on multiple field excursions. Summer fellows pay no tuition or program fees. Deadline: early February

New England Conservatory of Music Summer Institute for Contemporary Performance and Practice One week of intense master classes, lessons, colloquia, rehearsals, topped off by incredible nightly concerts given by SICPP faculty, guest artists and Ensemble-in-Residence. Deadline: early spring

Princeton Summer Undergraduate Research Experience  The Graduate School offers an eight-week summer research experience for undergraduates who express a serious interest in pursuing a Ph.D. and following a career in college or university teaching and research. Rutgers University Project L/Earn  Project L/EARN is designed to increase graduate school enrollment among students from groups that are traditionally under-represented in health-related graduate programs. Sophomore and junior students with an interest in health, mental health, or health services research are invited to apply. Deadline: February 9

Rutgers University, RWJ Medical School Summer Undergraduate Research Program (SURP) in Molecular and Developmental Neurobiology is funded, in part, by a grant from the National Institutes of Health. The goals of the program are to increase student knowledge and appreciation of basic Neuroscience research by providing a closely-mentored, hands-on graduate level research experience. Rowan University Summer Undergraduate Research Experience (SURE) is designed to provide a stimulating hands-on research experience for undergraduate students considering graduate education in the biomedical sciences. Albert Einstein College of Medicine Summer Undergraduate Research Program Each summer 50 college students conduct original laboratory research for nine weeks at one of the world’s top-ranking scientific institutions. The program is designed for undergraduates with a strong background in science who are considering a research career. Deadline: February 1

Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory Undergraduate Research Program Approximately 25 students come to CSHL each summer for the 10-week program, living and working in the exciting Laboratory environment. Current sophomores and juniors are eligible. Deadline: January 15

Cornell University ACCESS Summer Research Program  The ACCESS program of Weill Cornell Graduate School of Medical Sciences in New York City is designed for undergraduates from underserved or underrepresented populations who are interested in pursuing graduate study toward a PhD. Columbia University/Barnard College Amgen Scholars Summer Research Program A competitive program designed for motivated undergraduate students who will benefit from the opportunity of hands-on biology related laboratory research. No previous research experience is necessary and you do not need to be a biology major to apply. Deadline: February 3

Gerstner Sloan-Kettering Summer Undergraduate Research Program  Participants have the opportunity to perform hands-on research in cutting-edge biomedical research laboratories. Hunter College CTBR Summer Program for Undergraduate Research  The Center for Translational and Basic Research (CTBR) Summer Program for Undergraduate Research is an 8-week program that gives undergraduates hands-on experience in one of 53 research laboratories at Hunter College, CUNY in NYC. Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai Summer Research Fellowship Program  Located in New York City, the program offers 10-week summer research internships to outstanding undergraduate students who are planning to pursue an MD/PhD or a PhD and who are interested in doing research at a leading biomedical institution. Deadline: March 30

New York University Summer Research Program Center for Neural Science  NYU/CNS hosts a 10-week summer research experience program for undergraduates with an interest in neuroscience. This program is designed to foster entry into a neuroscience research-centered career. The primary goal of this program is to extend the Center’s robust neuroscience research opportunities to non-NYU students. Applications may be submitted starting February 15; review starts March 15.

Rockefeller University Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship  The SURF 10-week program provides a unique opportunity for undergraduates to conduct laboratory research. SURF students work with leading scientists in a broad range of areas including biochemistry; structural biology and chemistry; molecular, cell and developmental biology; immunology; virology and microbiology; neuroscience; physics; and mathematical biology. Weill Cornell Medical College Travelers Summer Research Fellowship  The Travelers Summer Research Fellowship Program is designed to give 25 premedical students deeper insights into the field of medicine, including issues that greatly affect the health of traditionally underserved groups. Howard Hughes Medical Institute Janelia Undergraduate Summer Scholars The Janelia Undergraduate Scholars program is a 10-week summer program aimed at well-prepared, independent, committed students with significant research experience.
